It may besafely sent by mail if the vial be carefully packed in sawdust,bran, or pajx-r, and inclosed in a light, wooden case, which maybe made by boring out a small pine or other light wood stick,the end being tightly corked after the vial is placed therein. Ifpacked in this way the liquid cannot escape from the case and soilthe mail matter, should the vial be broken in transit, as the saw-dust, bran, or papt-r, will absorb it. Unless it be thus carefullypacked it should not be sent by mail, V)ut may be sent , packed in an ordinary box. If sent by express all chargesmust be prepaid.
