View of New College Bell Tower and Hertford Bridge, University of Oxford
Hertford Bridge links together the Old and New Quadrangles of Hertford College. It was designed by Sir Thomas Jackson and completed in 1914. It is referred to as the Bridge of Sighs because of its supposed similarity to the Bridge of Sighs in Venice. New College was founded in 1379 by the Bishop of Winchester, William Wykeham.
