There is a small group of enamelled glass of veryuncertain origin which claims attention here. We areconcerned with certain little ewers, either of colourlessor more often of deep cobalt - blue glass; they aregenerally mounted in metal, but the handle is alwaysof glass. There are several examples of these ewers inthe British Museum, many of which bear dates rangingfrom 1577 to 1618. The cobalt-blue glass has, byDr. Brinckmann, been traced back to the glass-housesof Neudeck Flatten, on the Saxon-Bohemian frontier. In266.
