The portraitsof Albert Gartmann looked rather commonplacein such company, yet his male portraits gave proofof considerable talent and some still-life piecesshowed real gifts. In landscape Georg Dreydorffoffered some winter views of lyric charm, andtheir delicacy and grace of line testified to carefultraining.
