According to Secretary Joseph Deutschmann, all offi- cers VFere present and the attendance was large. At the next meeting of the association a committee will be ap- pointed to represent the association at the meeting of the American Carnation Society, and to help the committee of the St. Louis Florists' Club in enter- taining the attending delegates. The Retail Florists' Association will hold a meeting October 18 at the Mis- sion Inn Garden. This is to be the most important meeting of the year. Secretary Fred C. Weber, Jr., is en- thusiastic about the interest displayed by the members. Charles Beyer says street fairs have their charms. As his firm's store was right in the midst of the South Grand avenue business men's street fair, con- siderable business in decorating and transient trade was done. Alexander Johnson, of Wellston, was the only florist who exhibited at the big fair held in Maxwelton park and he carried off all the prizes. A num- ber of florists visited the fair October 7. Mr. Johnson says that fair week brought him considerable business. The decorations furnished by the C. Young & Sons Co. for the big ball of the Veiled Prophet at the Coliseum were more elab
