Llanwrtyd Wells, UK. 13th June 2015. Horse arrive early at The Station Yard to be checke by the vet. Runners & horses compete in the 37 km Man V Horse marathon over rugged Welsh terrain. Gordon Green conceived the event in 1980 upon overhearing a pub debate whether man was equal to horse running cross country over distance. Huw Lobb was the first man to beat a horse and won the £1,000 annually escalating prize total of £25,000 in 2004. 2014 saw the reintroduction of escalating prize money and introduction of electronic timing.
