Adele of Vermandois, Countess of Flanders, died 978. From the sepulchral monument in the church of Saint-Aubin. She wears a cape over a robe with large sleeves, a guimpe or wimple, and head veil with rolls at the ears. Handcoloured copperplate drawn and engraved by Leopold Massard from French Costumes from King Clovis to Our Days, Massard, Mifliez, Paris, 1834.
