The Aurelian Walls (Mura Aureliane), constructed in brick-faced concrete, are a line of city walls built in the short time of five years, as an emergency measure reaction to the barbarian invasion of 270. The Aurelian Walls were built between 271 AD and 275 AD during the reign of the Roman Emperors Aurelian and Probus.
