Meybod, Narin Qal’eh (Castle), Fortified Entrance
Located in the center of Iran, Yazd Province (Ostān-e Yazd) has an area of 131,575 km² and a population of approximately 1 million. It is situated at an oasis where the Dasht-e Kavir desert and the Dasht-e Lut desert meet. With a population of about 75,000 making it the second major city in Yazd Province, Meybod is a desert city. Narin Qal’eh (Castle) dates from Sassannian times and may well be the oldest existing mud-brick structure in Iran.
