leopard, Panthera pardus
A young male leopard roams his territory in the Moremi Game Reserve. Hunting was stopped here in the 1960's so generations of leopards have grown up free of fear from persecution and hunting and as a result are often seen active in broad daylight, which leopards in other areas would be foolhardy to venture around so brazenly.
