230327-N-NX635-1075 (March 27, 2023) Side boys render honors to Republic of Korea (ROK) Gen. Seung Kyum Kim, chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff Korea, during a visit to the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). The Nimitz Carrier Strike Group is conducting a bilateral maritime exercise with the ROK Navy in the 7th Fleet area of operations. 7th Fleet is the Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with Allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
