Former staircase locks of Arzviller-Henridorff built in 1853 to allow the Canal de la Marne au Rhin (Marne-Rhine Canal) to cross the Vosges threshold. It consisted of 17 locks closed to navigation in 1969 when the Saint-Louis Arzviller inclined plane was put into operation. The valley “vallee des eclusiers” is now a bucolic place for walkers, cyclists and nature and heritage lovers
