A Italian/Spanish cup-hilt rapier,circa 1650 The thrusting blade with double fullers extending from forte to point on each side,the root struck with the inscription "". Iron cup finely pierced and engraved with a design of hunting scenes and flowers(small chipping on one side)with cut flanged edge. The(slightly pitted)guardapolvo pierced with a design of flowers. Iron quillons with button-shaped terminals. Later spirally carved bone grip with vertically fluted iron pommel.
