The lower wings are sooty-brown SPHINXES. 153 and white. The thorax is reddish-brown with white stripes on thesides, and the abdomen has several white bars on the sides with tworows of white dots down the back. This insect is common in thesouthern states and I have taken a few in Massachusetts and iJolba livlseus.
