Nowa-days, indeed, it seems to havebeen settled upon the lovelyblue llyosotis which decksthe borders of our ditchesand streams, and many,doubtless, know of no otherplant to which it is, or hasbeen, applied. But, strange as it may seem, , a well-known authority on the names ofplants, states that Myosotis palustris has only beenknown as Eorget-me not for about forty years !We can hardly imagine the successful transfer of apopular name from one plant to another : scientificmen change about the names of species and generaat their own sweet will, and outsiders care littlewhether the American Waterweed be known asE
