Delonix regia growing in the grounds of , temple on the bank of Mae Klong River , Amphawa, Samut Sakhon, thailand

One of the most recognizable flowering trees seen in the tropics with its showy, fiery red-orange blooms and mimosa-like leaves. This large tree naturally displays a wide-spread, umbrella-shaped growth habit, often growing wider than tall. It can grow to 60' tall with characteristic smooth grey bark. The fern-like foliage drops annually during the dry season. When new leaves appear the tree is clothed in masses of flowers. The blooms are followed by long, flat, leathery dark brown seed pods.
