Brown of the Supreme Court of theState. The militiamen patrolled the principal streets andwere massed at all carhouses, but even with this protectionsuch effort as was made to run cars on Wednesday wasunsuccessful. STRIKE PRECEDED ORGANIZATION An unusual feature of the Buffalo strike is that there wasno formal organization among the men, who in fact havenot yet received a charter or even a number as a local unionof the Amalgamated Association of Street and ElectricRailway Employees. The agitation which led to the presenttroubles was begun about six months ago by a local socialistnewspaper publisher who lately induced two Amalgamatedorganizers to come to Buffalo.
