To-day the marketwas fairly active and higher, reflecting decidedly stronger ad-vices from Liverpool and a comparatively light m sightmovement for the week. The close was firm at a net gainfor the day of 11@23 points. Cotton on the spot has ad-vanced, closing at 9o. for middling uplands.
