Liver tumour. Section through a liver removed from a patient, showing a hepatic adenoma (round, white). Hepatic, or hepatocellular, adenomas are uncommon benign (non-cancerous) liver tumours. They are commonly associated with the use of hormonal contraception with a high oestrogen content. They are usually removed due to the risk of bleeding.
