Sometimes, when the scribeswished to call him by a bad name, they saidthat he was a Samaritan himself, and that hewas a friend of publicans and sinners. Theyfelt towards publicans and Samaritans as peo-ple in some southern towns feel towards ne-groes. It was for these reasons that when the Kingcame unto his own, his own received him were interested in little things : he wasinterested in great things.
