The supply of oil to the bearing isregulated by wicking, which passesthrough a valve chamber, as shown inthe accompanying cut. The oil is fedto the bearing by the capillary actionof this wick. A valve is also provided,being seated in this oil chamber, whichstops the supply of oil when the ecjuip-inent is not in service. The oil used isGalena car oil, the lighter oil beingused for winter and the heavy oil forsummer. The economy
