Guardian Building, downtown Detroit, built in 1927. Section of wall in the banking hall with a sound-absorbing ceiling construction. A horsehair mat covers the cement plaster ceiling. A perforated screen was laid over it and painted. This makes the room, which is the size of a cathedral, unusually quiet.
