However with the coming of sustained seasonal cold and usual holiday demand, the prices firmed the week before Thanksgiving and as December came in the fresh market was de- finitely satisfactory. New England Cranberry Sales Company expected to be well cleaned up in the Christmas mar- ket before Christmas. There was a markedly better feeling concerning fruit toward the end of the season. Regarding the processed market, M. L. Urann of NCA said in his November broadcast the consumer cemand for canned sauce was stronger than anticipated, and that he looked for good sales all through December. He said the National expected to receive from its members about 380,000 barrels, whether the total ci-op would be 750,000 barrels as per the latest Government estimate, or possibly only 700,000.
