Some of the women—and there were about one hundred of them -were remarkablybeautiful, and probably no more aristocratic gathering has ever come together in theparlors of Mr, Palmers hotel. The citizens commenced taking leave of the honored visitors at 7:00 oclock and ina half hour all had left, that the male guests might have an opportunity to prepare forthe banquet shortly to follow.
