Five week old chick of burrowing parrot (Cyanoliseus p. patagonus) Balneario El Condor Rio Negro, Patagonia, Argentina


The chicks of burrowing parrots, Cyanoliseus patagonus patagonus, hatch after a 25-day incubation period. As soon as the nestlings are able to walk they make frequent visits to the burrow entrance. Fledging occurs from the end of December through January.
