French & Flemish tapestries of similar subject are based on the "Italian Comedy" or "Fêtes Venitiennes". However, Bradshaw produced a totally new suite of scenes based on pictures by Watteau. This scene is designed on Watteau's "Plaisirs Champêtres" at Chantilly & "Les Bergers" at Potsdam, among other pictures by Watteau.
