The beet is small,flatand deep red, and ourstock is the very best fromthe originator. The results obtainedwere handsome form, good size, few small tops, very small tap root, fine quality, and,above all, quick, rapid growth. The shape is very desirable, not quite so flat as the ordi-nary Egyptian, nor so round as the Eclipse. Takes on its turnip shape and looks well evenm the early .stages of its growth, on which account it is preferred for forcing to the Globeand Half-Long varieties, which require longer time to grow to presentable market shape. This is a decided advantage to those w-ho forcefor real early market, and especially for a mar-ket where beets are sold in bunches. It is pre-ferred to all others for forcing in frames or forfirst sowing outside. Being a rapid grower itmay be sown outside as late as July. Pkt?,^ lb., 15c.;
