What The Re- view considers the best Mothers' day advertisement was that published last year by the Alpha Floral Co., Kansas City. It embodies The Eeview's sug- gestion with a particularly attractive illustration. The other advertisement, published last season by Penn, in Bos- ton, is founded on the same suggestion, Hnd is excellent, but the illustration is uot nearly so good—even if this is the -Mother of a famous painting there is something dispiriting in the illustration, though Penns report splendid results Tom the use of the advertisement. If you haven't a good "mother" illustration, better get one, but print • he advertisement anyhow, cut or no ut. Help push the day along. MOTHERS' DAY WINDOWS. One of the finest things the retail ilorist can do for a special flower day is 1^0 decorate his show window appro- priately. So generally is this fact rec- ognized that for such occasions as Thanksgiving and St. Valentine's day, something of special character usually IS devised, for ideas are easy to com- mand.
