A French sadhu at Varanasi, India. The place is very sacred for Hindus and is famous for Vishwanath temple, dedicated to Shiva
A French sadhu at Varanasi, India Spiritually enlightening and exceptionally photogenic, Varanasi is said to be at its brilliant best due to the ghats, the long stretch of steps leading down to the mighty Ganges on the western bank. Most are used for bathing but there are also several ‘burning ghats’ where bodies are cremated in public. The liveliest and most colourful ghat is Dashashwamedh, easily reachable at the end of the main road from Godaulia Crossing. It is a fantastic place to simply linger and watch the sunset in the evening. Hundreds of devotees from all over the globe visit Varanasi for spiritual enlightening. This is one of the most sacred pilgrimage spots for the Hindus.
