A beautiful Lilac-breasted Roller, Coracias caudatus, perched in a dead bush in the Xeric Savannah of the Kalahari Desert of Southern Africa. The Lilac-breasted roller are a multi-coloured perch hunting bird from sub-Saharan Africa and is the unofficial national bird of Kenya. The name roller refers to their impressive aerial acrobatics in flight, especially during courtship flights.
