The largest machines, in some instances, havean extra heated cylinder so arranged that the machinewill iron the work on both sides. The work doneon these machines, especially on table linen, is verynear perfection. It is necessary, however, to dry thework and redampen it, with the exception, perhaps,of the work from the larger machines. A laundrymandoing a small business in mangle work had best havea machine of this class. The makers of these machinesdo not claim that they compete in the cost of doingwork with the other class of machines, but they doclaim that the quality of the work can not be improved. Goods will have a better finish that are dried andredanvpened before mangling; and while it is notpractical to do this in connection with a large business, where circumstances will permit, it is always advisableto do so, as the goods finish much softer and usuallygive better satisfaction. — 343 —. if I O T3 — 344 —
