New Rochelle—Large, brown- ish red, quite firm, n'uicy, with a rich, sub-acid flavor; valuable for table, culinary purposes or canning; con- tinuing a long time in use. Rancocas — An extra early Red Raspberry, ripening ten days ahead of Brandywine. Bush hardy, healthy, %agor- ous and productive. A most valuable market berry, and indispensable for honie use. Fine quality, beautiful color; a good shipper, and ripens its whole crop in ten days to two weeks. Shaffer's Colossal—Colossal both in bush and b^^ry ; car- ries to market well; excel- lent to dry and unsurpassed for canning; berry dark crim- a very valuable variety; does not sucker, but son in color and excellent in quality roots from the tips like Black Caps. Turner—The Turner is valuable on account of its early ripening and fine quality. It is full medium size, and of fine red color. The bush is very hardy, standing unin- jured where many \ arieties have winter killed outright. YELLOW. Caroline — A seedling from Brinkle's Orange that needs no winter protec- tion ;^the fruit somewhat resembles its parent in appearance, and as the plant is \agorous'' and hardy it bids fair to supplant that old favorite variety. 'Colden Queen—This may be termed a Golden Cuthbert, as it is a seedling or sport of that po]3ular variety. Its lead- ing characteristics are large size,
