Rev. George F. Miller continued as pastor with theEnglish congregation, and soon after its transfer tothe new church, he resigned the care of the Germancongregation, which remained in the old church. remained pastor of the Church of the Trans-figuration until the spring of 1868. Schmucker, who took charge inJune, 1868, and served until compelled by failure ofhealth, to cease his labors as pastor in the fall of 1870. In June, 1871, Rev. Charles Koerner became pas-tor and remained until the end of 1880. The Rev. Schmucker, , succeeded Rev. Mr. Koernerand took charge of the congregation on the first Sun-day after Easter, 1881, continuing as pastor untilOctober 15, 1888, when death suddenly claimed him. The Rev. O. P. Smith, , was elected pastor Feb-ruary 9, 1889, and installed May 5, 1889, by Rev. Kepner, president of the First District installation sermon on this occasion was preachedby Rev. Prof. M. H. Richards, , at the morningservice, and Dr. Smith preached his introductory ser-mon at the evening service. Dr. Smith served the con-gregation for 22 years. His was the longest pastoratein the history of the congregation. The
