Annual catalogue of the officers, students and graduates of the Kansas State Agricultural College, Manhattan ... . hysical laboratories are large, well lighted, andequipped with the necessary apparatus for both the elementary and advancedlaboratory courses. The course in electrical engineering is designed to provide the necessary prepa-ration for young men who desire to engage in the practical work of electrical en-gineering. The theoretical work begins in the third year, with course No. 3 inphysics. An extended course in laboratory work is given, covering the subject ofelectrical measurements, and prepares for the work of the fourth year in thedynamo laboratory. The electrical and dynamo laboratories are well equippedwith high-grade apparatus and machinery, and afford every opportunity for athorough preparation for practical work in electrical engineering. Of the studies described, No. 1 is required in all courses; Nos. 4 and 5, in thegeneral science and agriculture courses; Nos. 2 and 3, in the mechanical engi-neering course; Nos. 2, 3, 6, 7, 8,9,10, and 11, in the electrical engineering ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING LABORATORY. 102 KANSAS STATE AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE. 1. Elementary Physics. First year, spring term. The work is intended togive the student a general view of the subject, with such laws and principles aswill be useful in scientific study, and includes the most important principlesof mechanics, heat, sound, light, and electricity. Text-book, Henderson andWoodhull, Laboratory.— In this work the importance of accurate observation and con-clusions is emphasized. In the laboratory the exercises will consist of measure-ments with calipers, balances, spherometers, micrometer-microscope, pendulum, and other instruments of like nature. Careful records of experimental work arerequired. 2. Physics I. Third year, fall term. During the terms work the generalprinciples of heat and sound are treated, and the most approved methods for themeasurement of each will be
