Continued Drainage.—The urethra and bladdergenerally will not tolerate drainage through a catheterleft in the penis; the trouble is the neck of the bladderwill not tolerate the catheter if you want to drain fortwo to three months. Also, the urine will well out thetop in preference to coming through that way. A fewsurgeons prefer to drain through the perineum, whichrequires but a small incision.
