Painting: Bees and monkeys under the cypress by Shen Quan, Qing Dynasty. Shen Quan ( 1682 - after 1759), a native of Wuxing (present-day Huzhou, Zhejiang province), is also known by his "zi"(designated name) Hengzhi and his "hao"(lierary name) Nanping. Using brigt and brilliant colours, he painted flowers and feathers with fine brush strokes and close attention to detail.
