TWO SAND MOUNDS ON MURPHY ISLAND, FLORIDA. 513 A curiously shaped pendant of steatitic rock, having a length of .9 of one inchand a maximum diameter of inches, lay with a burial 6 feet from the surface (Fig. 68). Two pendants of quartz were found separately in the mound. One, a roughfragment about 1 inch in length, is rudely grooved at one end. The other, acrystal, inches in length with a maximum diameter of .5 of one inch, is neatlygrooved and shows considerable wear (Fig. 69)..
