South Carolina National Guard Soldiers from the 124th Engineer Company, 172nd Engineer Platoon and the 1782nd Engineer Company competed in the Best Engineer Competition at the McCrady Training Center Aug. 5, 2016. As one of the horizontal engineer tasks, each Soldier had to operate a backhoe in a confined space by transferring a softball from the top of a cone to a bucket without knocking either over.
