Private Grunelle from the Signal Corps captured this photograph, titled 111-SC-24154, on August 20, 1918 in Abeele, Belgium. The image shows the Stokes Trench Mortar Platoon of the 108th Regiment Infantry dismounting to prepare for action. This platoon belonged to the 54th Brigade and was equipped with 1 lb. cannon. The photograph passed the censor, but the exact date of clearance is unknown.
