Climate Rush On Tour: Aylesbury. TV performer and cook Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall talks to Tamsin Omond

The Climate Rush tour of South West England camped at Haddenham a few miles away, and came into Aylesbury to hold a Green Fayre in Kingsbury, a pedestrian area in the centre of Aylesbury with a few pubs and cafés as well as shops around its edges, and a water feature with a number of small fountains. Joining them for a green festival on a sunny late summer day were Green Euro-MP Caroline Lucas and celebrity cookery writer and TV performer Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. At the start of the event, Tamsin Omond and some of the other Climate Rushers in the long white suffragette dresses and red sashes carried one of their banners (EQUITY: Emission Quotas Must Be Per Capita; The Rich Have No More Right To Pollute Than The Poor) around the nearby busy market area and nearby streets, Tamsin announcing in a surprisingly loud voice the chance to meet both the TV Cook and one of their Euro MPs. There were children's activities, Aylesbury Museum joined in with a stall (and brought some fruit from their garden to give away) and although there weren't huge numbers present everyone enjoyed an afternoon in the sun - and perhaps learnt a little about climate change and how we need to react to it.
