Solar lentigo

Excised solar lentigo. A solar lentigo is a flat brown patch of discolouration caused by excessive production of the skin pigment melanin. Lentigo spots are thought to be caused by exposure to sunlight and are associated with aging. They are benign, but can occasionally develop into a slow-growing form of skin cancer.
