At the time the Art Gallery was opened to the public, themain room was set apart for oil paintings, the west side roomfor photographs, the east side room for engravings and watercolors, the south-east corner room for relics, and the south-west corner room for exhibition of art work from the schools orsuch as might be required. The library was already in pos-session of a valuable collection of photographic copies ofworks of art in the galleries of Europe which were properlyarranged, and to which some additions have been made bygift and purchase. /.
