John Fletcher Moulton (1844-1921), British judge. Moulton was called to the bar in 1874. He was made a judge in 1885, shaping patent law regarding early telephone and electric lighting systems. He was elected Fellow of the Royal Society in 1880, and was a Member of Parliament from 1885 to 1906. Made Lord Justice in 1906, he was elevated to the Lords in 1912 as Baron Moulton. For his World War I work on explosives he was made Knight Commander of the Order of the Bath (KCB, 1915) and Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the British Empire (GBE, 1917).
