An adjustable chain is used to hold CH-53K helicopters in place on the flight deck of USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19) on Jan. 18, 2017 as the ship rolls underway and is prepared for rough seas ahead. The ship is involved in Composite Training Unit Exercise conducted by the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, a compilation of training scenarios designed to solidify unit cohesion and refine operational efficiency prior to their upcoming deployment as an integrated unit.
