Schray & Sons have a world of fine chrysanthe- mums, both cut flowers and pot plants, from which they supply the local store men. The demand has been good in all varieties. Grimm & Gorly's place on Washing- ton avenue looked like a flower show last week. Chrysanthemums were the main flower on exhibition. Mr. Gorly says the fine weather brought the buyers out and transient trade formed a large part of their business. Clarence Pedlow, of Indianapolis, Mrs. M. Stoflfey, of Chicago, and Paul A. Kohl, of St. Louis, were recently awarded scholarships at the Missouri Botanical Garden. One of the attractions along Broad- way is the window display of the Ries- sen Floral Co., which is featuring fancy cut blooms of yellow and white chrysanthemums. Mrs. Buechel says business is satisfactory and is picking up daily. Frank Windier, of the Windier Wholesale Floral Co., says that chry- santhemums sold well all through the week, but roses, carnations and orchids met with a poor demand. Fred H. Weber, at Boyle and Mary- land avenues, is showing some eiira fine blooming plants and cut stock. Business here is reported good in all lines. W. J.
