Barriere de la Cunette


The view taken in 1828, shows the Barriere de la Cunette which is one of the Western barriers between Passy and Grenelle on the other side of the River Seine. A boat called the Patache collected the duties. The barriers were designed by Le Doux under the direction of M Colonne. They were inhabited by Customs Officers, The image was drawn by J Nash under the direction of A Pugin and engraved by J C Kernott
