SIGMA PHI HPhE Sigma Phi Fraternity was established at Union College in 1827. The founders were T. F. Bowrie. George N. Porter. Chas. Rowley. S. , R. H. Champan and Chas. T. Cromwell. The policy of Sigma Phifrom its foundation has been conservative. It has but eight active chaptersin existence at the present time. They are at the following colleges : , Williams. Hobart. University of Vermont, University of and Cornell. Each chapter, except the one at Vermont, owns itschapter house. The total membership is about The fraternity has no honorary members. An annual convention of delegates from the various chapters governs thefraternity. This convention meets with each chapter in turn. Catalogues have been issued every three or four years since the first one,which came out in 1834. Song books and addresses have also frequentlybeen published for private circulation.
