SASEBO, Japan (April 18, 2017) Capt. Nathan Moyer, commanding officer of the amphibious transport dock USS Green Bay (LPD 20), points out the ship’s position to the conning officer, Ens. Zachary Fuller, as Green Bay departs Sasebo, Japan. Green Bay, assigned to Commander, Amphibious Squadron 11, is conducting at-sea preparations for its upcoming Mid-Cycle Inspection (MCI). MCI is conducted at the mid-year point prior to the Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV) and is used to inspect and assess the material conditions of a ship.
