This latest invention of his, patents for which are pending, consists of a S])e-cial shutter to be used on the hood of the lens inthe usual way. The working is as follows :— The camera having been set up and adjusted inthe usual manner, the exposure is made by press-ing a Inilb, which operates the shutter and kec])sit open until the pressure is relaxed. During thecxjiosure a sujoplementary disc, which workswithin the shutter, so manipulates the rays emit-ted, that the iniage impressed upon the plate ismodelled automatically. The result of this isthat the developed negative yields jjositive prints, which are, to all interests and purposes, likeprints taken from hand retcniched ^.
