The five-pointed brass stars with the honoree's name and category emblem are embedded in the sidewalk and extend for nearly two miles on both sides of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in Hollywood, California, USA. Twenty-four well-known people in the entertainment industry are added to the Walk of Fame every year; Marilyn Monroe's induction ceremony was in 1960.
